Definition of: "Sadaqah"
بـسـم الله والحـمـد لله والـصلاة والـسـلام عــلى رسـول الله، وبـعـد

Shaikh al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
The Shaikh رحمه الله said:
Al-Sadaqah (charity) is: a voluntary donation by a person
from his wealth to the poor, aiming with it the Face of Allaah (and His
pleasure). And it has been named as “Sadaqah” because giving away of wealth for
the sake of Allaah عز وجل is an evidence for the Sidq (truthfulness) of one’s Imaan in
Allaah تعالى.
