Fruit of knowledge is in its implementation

بـسـم الله والحـمـد لله والـصلاة والـسـلام عــلى رسـول الله، وبـعـد

Abu al-Hasan al-Tirmidhee* said: I read in the book of wisdom (i.e. some old book):

“Knowledge is dead, so make it alive by seeking it. Then when you have made it alive by seeking it, it is weak; its strength is in learning. So when you make it strong by learning, it is hidden; so make it known by teaching it. Then when it is known, it is useless; so make it fruitful by implementing it.”

[al-Faqeeh wal-Mutafaqqih of al-Khateeb al-Baghdaadee (2/8)]

* Not to be confused with the Imaam, Abu `Eesaa al-Tirmidhee رحمه الله, the author of “Sunan al-Tirmidhee”.
