Introduction to Tafseer al-Muyassar - King Fahad Complex for the Printing of the Glorious Qur’aan.

بـسـم الله والحـمـد لله والـصلاة والـسـلام عــلى رسـول الله، وبـعـد

A small clarification:

The purpose here is to introduce to some of the readers, who might be unaware, of a very concise and easy Tafseer of the Glorious Qur’aan which has been in print and available for the readers for quite some time.

But before we proceed, we would like to inform the readers that there are two Tafaaseer (sing. Tafseer) of the same name: “Tafseer al-Muyassar”.

One of the Tafseer is by `Aaidh al-Qarnee, Allaah guide him to the truth, and we do not recommend this due to the issues in Manhaj of the author and his aligning with the Shi`as and the Soofees and his call towards unity with them upon falsehood and to keep silent about their mistakes. He’s been refuted by the scholars – Allaah reward them immensely - including Shaikh al-Albaanee, Shaikh al-Fawzaan, Shaikh `Ubaid and others.

The Tafseer al-Muyassar which we recommend is the one printed by King Fahad Complex for the printing of the Glorious Qur’aan.

The name:

The name of the book:
التفسير الميسر
إعداد نخبة من العلماء
مجمع الملك فهد لطباعة المصحف الشريف

Both the books are available in the bookstores (in Saudi Arabia) as well as online. So make sure you are reading the right one.

About the Book:

The Tafseer was done by a group of prominent scholars in Tafseer and was further reviewed by a group of other prominent scholars and among those who reviewed this was Shaikh Bakr Abu Zaid رحمه الله.

Shaikh Saaleh bin `Abdul-`Azeez aal al-Sheikh حفظه الله – the Minister of Islaamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance of Saudi Arabia – has also written a preface to the Tafseer.

Some of benefits of this Tafseer:

Shaikh Saaleh aal al-Sheikh حفظه الله said about this Tafseer:

The Tafseer is based on some of the following important points:

1. Tafseer of the verses is done upon the Manhaj of the Salaf al-Saalih (pious predecessors) in the matters of `Aqeedah (Creed).

2. Giving precedence to that which is the most correct opinion, taken from the other (books of) Tafseer.

3. Limiting it to transmitting only the most correct opinion.

4. Highlighting the Qur’aanic guidance and the objectives of Islaamic Sharee`ah through this Tafseer.

5. Usage of simple and easy phrases and words (throughout the Tafseer), along with explaining the difficult words.

6. Explaining to the extent of the Aayah, avoiding repetition (as found in other Tafaaseer) and every Aayah is explained in its respective place.

7. Explaining the meaning of the Aayah directly, without quoting any narrations except where necessary.

8. The Tafseer is based on the recitation of Hafs on the authority of `Aasim.

9. Refraining from mention about the different recitations and the issues pertaining to Arabic grammar.

10. This Tafseer will be translated in other languages; therefore avoiding terminologies which would be difficult to translate.
