Why some people can’t accept the truth?! (some of the reasons):

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد

1) Hero worship:

In the past the people did not accept the truth because it went against the teachings of their forefathers:

﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّـهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ

{When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah has sent down." They say: "Nay! We shall follow what we found our fathers following." (Would they do that!) Even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided?} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 170]

Nowadays, the forefathers have been replaced with “celebrity speakers”.

2) They reject the truth after knowing it:

﴿وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ

{Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.} [Surah al-Bayyinah (98): 4]

They know the errors of these “celebrity speakers” but still want to cling on to them.

۩۞۩

3) What have you done?!

They say, “so and so “celebrity speaker” has done such and such social work, what have you done?”

If social work with wrong `Aqeedah was of any benefit then Abu Taalib would have been the foremost to reap its fruits. It would have benefited Ibn Jud`aan who, in the days of ignorance, used to maintain ties of kinship and feed the poor. [Saheeh Muslim]. And we know that neither one of them benefited from their good deeds.

The one who calls towards Wahdatul Wujood and the `Aqeedah of Jahmiyyah is more closer to Kufr than to Imaan.

۩۞۩

4) A lot of these “celebrity speakers” do not talk about Tawheed nor warn against Shirk:

These “celebrity speakers” do not give importance to the subject of Tawheed, and that is one of the reasons why people do not know “al-Walaa wal-Baraa’” (loving and hating for the sake of Allaah).

These “celebrity speakers” do not speak about Tawheed because they fear that their deviance will become obvious.

﴿وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا

{And when you make mention of your Lord Alone [Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (none has the right to be worshiped but Allaah) Islaamic Monotheism (Tawheed)] in the Qur'aan, they turn on their backs, fleeing in extreme dislikeness.} [Surah al-Israa' (17): 46]

For them, the topics on Tawheed and `Aqeedah do not gather big crowds in comparison to storytelling, so they choose the later – Allaahul-musta`aan!

۩۞۩

5) The mesmerizing speech:

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Two men came from the East and addressed the people who wondered at their eloquent speeches On that Allaah's Messenger () said. “Some eloquent speech is as effective as magic.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]

Some of these modern day “celebrity speakers” are really good speakers. They mesmerize people with their speech and mix truth with falsehood and most of the people, because of their ignorance, do not even know it.

If the person has no knowledge, how can he take the good and leave the bad? If he has no knowledge, how can he identify the truth from the falsehood? Many people fell into deviation because of their sitting with the Ahl al-Bid`ah (innovators), listening to their talks and reading their books.

۩۞۩

• The one who gives shelter to the innovator has deceived the Ummah:

And when someone comes up to clarify the issue and warn against the deviants, he is criticized as dividing the Ummah. By Allaah! The ones who have divided the Ummah are those who oppose the Kitaab and the Sunnah, and those who assist them and cover their faults and give them protection.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Madeenah is a sanctuary from the 'Air Mountain to such and such a place, and whoever innovates in it an heresy or commits a sin, or gives shelter to an innovator in it will incur the curse of Allaah, the angels, and all the people, none of his compulsory or optional good deeds of worship will be accepted.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim]
