بسم الله والحمد لله
والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد
In the Qur'aan, Allaah تعالى says:
{When those who disbelieve
had put in their hearts pride and haughtiness the pride and haughtiness of the
time of ignorance, then Allaah sent down His Sakeenah (calmness and tranquillity)
upon His Messenger (ﷺ) and upon the
believers, and made them stick to the word of piety (i.e. لا إلهَ إلاّ الله none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah), and they were
well entitled to it and worthy of it. And Allaah is the All-Knower of
everything.} [Surah al-Fath (48): 26]
Shaikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan حفظه الله said (paraphrased):
❝
﴿وَهُوَ
أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ﴾
{…and He (Allaah) knows best those who are the rightly
guided ones.}
[Surah al-An`aam (6): 117; Surah al-Nahl (16): 125; Surah
al-Qasas (28): 56; Surah al-Qalam (68): 7]
No one is given Hidaayatul-Qalb (guidance of the heart)
except those who deserve it. As for those who do not deserve it, Allaah تعالى deprives them of it. Allaah
عز وجل
is All-Knowing, All-Wise, He does not guide every heart. He تعالى only guides those whom
He knows deserve it and are worthy of it. As for those whom He knows do not
deserve it nor are worthy of it, He deprives them of it. And from those who
were deprived of guidance was Abu Taalib.
Abu Taalib was deprived from receiving guidance because
he did not deserve it, so Allaah تعالى deprived him of it.
There are reasons why one is deprived of guidance, from
them are:
1. Fanaticism (prejudice) towards
Baatil (Falsehood)(ex. fanaticism towards the religion of the forefathers).
2.
Pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance.
These two are (from the many) reasons why Allaah تعالى deprives one from
receiving guidance.
Whosoever is made aware of the Truth, but does not accept
it, he is punished with deprivation - and Allaah’s refuge is sought from this.
One is punished with deviation (of the heart) and misguidance, and because of
which he does not accept the Truth.
In this (there is a lesson) that one should be diligent
in accepting the Truth straight away once he becomes aware of it. He should not
loiter nor delay; maybe because of his delaying he may be deprived of it.
﴿فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ﴾
{So when they turned away
(from the Path of Allaah), Allaah turned their hearts away (from the Right
Path).} [Surah al-Saff (61): 5]
﴿وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفْئِدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَارَهُمْ
كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ﴾
{And We shall turn their
hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe therein
for the first time...} [Surah al-An`aam (6):
110]❞

Note: we see this fanaticism towards the
"celebrity" speakers, where one says "Allaah can't do a thousand
things" or "one can still enter the Jannah even if he denies the
Prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ"
or when one makes fun of the Companions by derogatory names like "pokie-man"
or when one makes false interpretation of the Qur’aan or makes fun of the
Angels etc. Many people, even after acknowledging these mistakes, stick with
these "Celebrity" speakers because of their fanaticism towards them
and they realize it not.
May Allaah protect us from this Fitnah.
