The sight of spilling of blood and its gushing out on the Day of `Eid. That is a sight when a slave (of Allaah) honors the Symbol from the Symbols of Allaah (by offering the sacrifice). And honoring the Symbols of Allaah is a sign of a righteous heart.
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ
اللَّـهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ
{That is (so). And whosoever honors the Symbols of Allaah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.}
[Surah al-Hajj (22): 32]
And it is mentioned in the Qur’aan that “it is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allaah”, but what reaches him is your affirmation of His absolute Lordship and obedience to His Commandments, and accepting His dominance that He is the One who Commands and Prohibits, and that He تعالى does what He intends, He judges and decides and there is no one to reverse His Judgment, and that He is the One who has created these sacrificial animals, and it is He who has commanded us to slaughter them on these glorified days.
The way He تعالى prohibited us from (unjustly) spilling the blood of some of the creatures (i.e. human beings), likewise, He has Commanded us to spill the blood of some other creatures (the cattle etc.).
The way He has permitted us to consume some of the animals, similarly, He has prohibited us from consuming some others.
The way He تعالى has conserved some of the souls*, likewise, He has Commanded the departure (sacrifice) of some other souls.
*(i.e. the sacrificial animal should not be below certain age
etc.)
The way He تعالى has made the whole earth as a Masjid and as a purifier for us, similarly, He has excluded the seven places in which the prayers are not to be offered.
The way He تعالى Commanded us to kiss the (Black) Stone, similarly, He has Commanded us with the stoning using other stones.
In the midst of all of this, we are merely the slaves of Allaah, we hear and we obey, and we do not object to Allaah’s Wisdom with our foolish reasoning, nor because of what our rubbish souls whispers to us, and neither do we follow the Kuffaar or the apostates who have abandoned the Deen.
By Allaah! Following the Deen is really easy! It is Allaah تعالى who has Created us, Commands us, and Judges between us… we are only His slaves, upon us is no other option but to hear and obey, and to submit with complete submission, and to humble ourselves with complete humility. Submitting to the Commands and Judgment of our Lord.
Allaah is our Lord and the Lord of the cattle that He has Commanded us to sacrifice. If these cattle were pious and had an understanding, they would have offered themselves for sacrifice in obedience to Allaah, and this has been made clear to us in the story of the Prophet of Allaah, Ismaa`eel عليه السلام, who readily submitted himself in obedience to His Lord in fulfilling the dream of his father, Ibraaheem عليه السلام.
Once again! It is a delight to see the Muslims slaughtering the sacrificial animals and fulfilling this act of obedience. Offering the sacrifice purely in obedience to our Lord, knowing well that sacrificing for someone other than Allaah is an abominable act which dispels one from the fold of Islaam, and the one doing this is a Mushrik.
Slaughtering an animal is an act of `Ibaadah when a person does it for the sake of Allaah. If a person slaughters the animal and saves it for himself and for his family, and does not give it in charity to others nor distributes it among his neighbors, yet he is not sinful, rather, he will receive his reward in full for sacrificing the animal in obedience to Allaah. But if he distributes some portion of it and gives out in charity, and feeds the poor from it, then it is another act of obedience other than the obedience of sacrificing the animal. It is light upon light, and obedience upon obedience.
What an amazing sight to see the Muslims obeying their Lord while the enemies of Allaah – the Kuffaar and the apostates – burn in their rage, who cannot withstand to see the happiness of the Muslims and their gathering together to honor the Symbols of Allaah. May Allaah humiliate them!
الله أكبر الله أكبر لا إله إلا الله،
والله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد
