#1. About al-ajar al-Aswad (the Black Stone). It is the only thing in this world which is not from it, nor from anywhere in the universe – rather it came from the Jannah.

#2. The Stone was whiter than milk [i.e. so radiant, snowy, free of any blemishes, stains or spots], but the sins of the sons of Aadam darkened it.

The Two Unavoidable Questions

First: On the Tawheed of Allaah (تبارك وتعالى):

Allaah (عزوجل) said:

{And (remember) the Day when He will call to them and say: "Where are My (so-called) partners whom you used to assert?"} [Surah al-Qasas (28): 62]

Second: On the Ittiba of the Messenger of Allaah (سبحانه وتعالى):

Allaah (تبارك وتعالى) said:

{ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ }

{And (remember) the Day (Allâh) will call to them, and say: "What answer gave you to the Messengers?"} [Surah al-Qasas (28): 65]

What is Tawheed al-Haakimiyyah?

Tawheed Al-Haakimiyyah is part of Islaam, والحمد الله (wal-hamdulillaah). Only Allaah تعالى has the right to create laws and legislate it, and only His laws are to be followed, ولا إله إلا هو (wa laa ilaaha illa huwa).

There is also Tawheed as-Salaat, Tawheed al-Siyaam, Tawheed al-Zakaat, Tawheed al-Hajj, Tawheed al-Dhikr, and Tawheed al-Du`aa and so on; all of which (including Tawheed Al-Haakimiyyah) fall under the much broader category of Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah (Tawheed of Worship): لا إله إلا الله (Laa ilaaha illallaah): none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah.

{Those to whom We gave the Book recite it as it should be recited}

{Those to whom We gave the Book recite it as it should be recited} [1]

Tafseer al-Muyassar:
Meaning: “They read it correctly, follow it as it should be followed, and believe in what it contains of belief in the Messengers of Allaah, including the Seal of them, our Prophet and Messenger Muhammad . They do not distort or alter what it contains. These are the ones who believe in the Prophet Muhammad and in what was revealed to him. As for those who changed some part of the Book and concealed some of it, these are disbelievers in the Prophet of Allaah, Muhammad , and in what was revealed to him. And whoever disbelieves in him, then with Allaah, they are the ones who are most deprived (and big losers).” [2]

Time And Tide Waits For No Man.

Allaah تعالى says:

{It will be, on the Day they see it (the Last Hour), as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.} [Surah al-Nazi`aat (79): 46]

Time is a great teacher and mentor of man. In the bosom of time are contained tremendous accounts of nations’ rise and fall, which can be of great significance and value for people living now on earth. This planet has seen hundreds of nations in the past, rising slowly towards eminence, consolidating their power for some time and then degenerating and falling into oblivion. How many nations took shape, reached their climax and then vanished without a trace! Thousands built big empires by means of massive military campaigns and conquests. But at last, all drowned in the ocean of time.

Dozens of civilizations saw the light of day and, after touching the summit of success and fame, decayed and were annihilated. Billions and Billions of human beings were born into this world and after having passed through the stages of adolescence, youth, and old age, returned to dust.

Sincere Repentance

Repentance is required for all sins, great or small, apparent or hidden. Repentance is for the benefit of man, since Allaah سبحانه و تعالى Himself is free of need.

The word “Taubah” literally means “turning back”. Since, sin puts distance between the soul and Allaah سبحانه و تعالى, during repentance the servant turns back to Allaah سبحانه و تعالى, seeking refuge in His forgiveness. And when a soul repents and returns to Him, Allaah سبحانه و تعالى turns back to His servant in acceptance and forgiveness. Thus Allaah سبحانه و تعالى has named Himself “at-Tawwaab”, the constant Acceptor of Repentance and sometimes translated as “the Oft-Returning”.

To Inquire Until One Understands...

Kitaab al-`Ilm.

Chapter: The one who hears a thing and inquires until it is understood

Narrated Ibn Abu Mulaika: Whenever 'Aishah (the wife of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) heard anything which she did not understand, she used to ask again till she understood it completely. `Aishah said: "Once the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Whoever will be called to account (about his deeds on the Day of Resurrection) will surely be punished." I said, "Doesn't Allaah say: "He surely will receive an easy reckoning." [Surah al-Inshiqaaq (84):8] The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم replied, "This means only the presentation of the accounts but whoever will be argued about his account, will certainly be ruined."

{Has not the time yet come for the believers that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allah And that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened And many of them were rebellious.} [Surah al-Hadeed (57): 16]

The Islaamic Ruling On Celebrating Birthdays

Celebrating birthdays is like self glorification. People celebrate their life every year and forget the reality that death is promised to all. The most important thing is whether we would die obeying our creator or obeying our desires.

And if you say that you celebrate it because you want to thank Allaah for another year in your life; then know that you should be thankful to Allaah for that everyday you live and that every breath you take. You should thank Him in the ways which Allaah has prescribed and the way the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has described. Singling out one day like this is not the way we were taught by our Prophet and if there was any benefit in it, he صلى الله عليه وسلم would have informed us.

Virtues And Recommended Deeds Of The First 10 Days Of Dhul Hijjah

Revised on October 5th, 2013

Narrated Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja).” Then some companions of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Not even Jihad?” He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allaah's sake) and does not return with any of those things.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree Vol. 2, Hadeeth (86)]

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم also said: “There are no days greater or more loved by Allaah in which to perform good deeds other than these 10 days, therefore praise and glorify Allaah abundantly in these days.” [Musnad Ahmad (1968) and it is Saheeh]

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم also said: “The best of days is that of Arafah.” [Ibn Hibbaan (3853) and graded as “Dha`eef” (Weak) by Shaikh al-Albaanee but there are other authentic Ahaadeeth on the virtues of of the Day of `Arafah.]

The Grave Mistake

The Grave Mistake

Allaah تعالى says: {Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allaah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.} [Surah al-Nisaa (4): 48]

Shirk, associating partners with Allaah, is a sin which will not be forgiven by Allaah, except for the person who sincerely repents from it and stops doing it. The person who dies doing Shirk will never enter Paradise, nor will he ever come out of Hell.

The Importance Of Quoting Only The Authentic Ahaadeeth...

Nowadays a lot of people quote/post things and then attribute it to the Prophet They do not verify its authenticity nor do they quote the references. Moreover, they do not even mention the name of the companion who narrated that Hadeeth. Before quoting any Hadeeth, its authenticity should be verified, because people in the past have concocted/fabricated many narrations of their own and then attributed it to Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم for various reasons. The following Ahadeeth convey to us the gravity of the sin for quoting a Hadeeth before verifying its authenticity.

The Reason Why All Du`a Are Not Accepted

Revised on November 06, 2011

The reasons why all Du`aa’ (supplications) are not answered: #1: We fail to ask Allaah for help, nor do we humble ourselves in front of Him.
