Allaah تعالى said:
{Have you seen
him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilaah (god), and Allaah
knowing (him as such), left him astray, sealed his hearing and his heart, and
put a cover on his sight? Who then will guide him after Allaah? Will you not
then remember?}
[Surah al-Jaathiyah (45):23. See also: Surah al-Furqaan
(25): 43]
Should we not then know its reality, so that we can deal
with it in a way it should be dealt with?!
This world, will it remain forever, or will it perish?!
Do we not remember that death has been written for us, as
Allaah تعالى said:
{We have decreed death to you
all}
[Surah al-Qamar (56): 60]
And also:
{Every soul
shall taste death. Then unto Us you shall be returned.}
[Surah al-`Ankaboot (29): 57. See also: (3:185) &
(21):35]
Sooner or later, we all will die! The time has been appointed
and the place has been determined. While we were still in our mother’s womb,
our ages, our sustenance, etc. were written down by the Angels upon Allaah’s
Command! [See Saheehain]
Therefore, when the appointed time comes, we will not live a
second more nor die a second earlier.
So, is this the bliss we are looking for?! Is this the bliss
for which we are tiring ourselves?! Is this the bliss that we are sacrificing
ourselves for?!
We should give to this world according to its worth, not
more and not less, and take from it what has been written for us, and enjoy
what is Halaal (permissible) but without excessiveness, as Allaah تعالى said:
هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا
فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِن رِّزْقِهِ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
{It is He, Who has made the
earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do
agriculture on it, etc.), so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision,
and to Him will be the Resurrection.}
[Surah al-Mulk (67): 15]
And the people had advised Qaaroon, saying:
{But seek, through that
(wealth) which Allaah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do
not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allaah has done well to you.
And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allaah does not like
corrupters.}
[Surah al-Qasas (28): 77]
Get married, do trading, buy, sell, and do whatever you
want, as long as it is Halaal (permissible) and Tayyib (good/beneficial).
But beware! Be careful! Do not exceed the limits set by
Allaah! Do not do things for which you will regret on the Day of Judgment! Do
not do things, the consequences of which will be evil for you in the Hereafter!
We forget, but everything has been written in Lau
al-Mahfoodh (the Preserved Tablet), and our Lord does not forget.
In this world, there is hardship, suffering, trials, and
afflictions! So, this makes us in need of Allaah’s help at every moment and in
every situation.
Do not make this world your objective! Do not make this
world your ultimate goal!
The Prophet ﷺ
had said: ❝Whoever makes the Hereafter his goal, Allaah will make
his heart rich and organizes his affairs, and willingly or unwillingly the
world will come to him. And whoever makes the world his goal, Allaah will put poverty
right before his eyes (i.e., make him constantly fear poverty), and disorganize
his affairs, and the world does not come to him, except for what has already
been decreed for him.❞
[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2465) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh
al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (949)]
Who owns the world other than Allaah?! No one! If Allaah
were to give something to someone, no one can prevent that; and if Allaah were
to withhold something from someone, no one can provide that for him. Sub-haan
Allaah!
Do you want Allaah to be your opponent?! Do you want to
fight a war against your Creator?! Do you want Allaah to make all your affairs
difficult?! If you don’t, then memorize this above-mentioned Hadeeth and follow
its teachings.
If a person were to sell you a few hundred mosquitos, will
you buy it from him? No, because they are useless to you, and moreover they are
carriers of diseases and bacteria.
And for Allaah, this world is worth less than a wing of a
mosquito, and the love of this world corrupts the hearts.
Sahl bin Sa`d
reported: The Messenger of Allaah
said: ❝Were this
world worth a wing of a mosquito, He (تعالى) would not allow the disbeliever to have a sip of water from
it.❞
[Sunan al- Tirmidhee (2320) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh
al-Albaanee]
If this world had the slightest of weight or value with
Allaah, He تعالى would not have allowed the Kuffaar to inherit
from it as they do not deserve it because of their Kufr and disobedience to
Him.
This Hadeeth describes the worthlessness and insignificance of the world in the sight of Allaah تعالى. For this reason, He تعالى allowed the Kuffaar and the criminals to own, inherit, and become kings and rulers in this world. And He تعالى protected and defended the Prophets and the righteous people, in general, so that it does not corrupt them.
