Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said:
The soul’s share from the pleasure and the punishment in the
grave is more, whereas the body only shares a part of it. But on the Day of
Judgment, both the soul and the body (will have equal the share of the pleasure
or the punishment).

Shaikh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله also said:
In regards to the questioning in the grave and the condition
of the dead person – then (know) that the questioning will be real – (Allaah تعالى causes) the soul of the dead person to return to him. Authentic
Ahaadeeth have been narrated from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in this regards. The dead person experiences a type of life
other than the life that he used to live before death. This is a special life
known as Barzakh (the period after death and before the Resurrection) which is
different that the life of this world - in (this life) a person is in need of
food and drink and other than that. Rather, in this special life (of Barzakh),
(Allaah تعالى gives him) life in
the sense that he becomes only able to understand the question and answer, then
his soul leaves his body and ascends to `lliyyeen (heaven) if he was a Believer
(and a pious person); but if he is from the people of Hell, then he will
descend in the Fire. [Majmoo` Fataawa wa Maqaalaat (Vol. 3, pg 338)]

The evidence for this are the Ahaadeeth that the bodies of
the human beings - except for the bodies of the Prophets and Messengers - start
to decay till nothing is left except the coccyx bone:
Narrated Al–A`mash: Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said: Allaah’s Apostle صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Between the two sounds of
the trumpet, there will be forty.” Somebody asked Abu Hurairah,
“Forty days?” But he refused to reply. Then he asked, “Forty months?” He
refused to reply. Then he asked, “Forty years?” Again, he refused to reply. Abu
Hurairah added. “Then (after this period) Allaah
will send water from the sky and then the dead bodies will grow like vegetation
grows, There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone;
that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will
be recreated on the Day of Resurrection.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (4862,
4985) and Saheeh Muslim (7603)]
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported so many Ahaadeeth from Allaah’s Apostle صلى الله عليه وسلم and amongst these one was this that Allaah’s
Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “There
is a bone in the human being which the earth would never consume and it is from
this that new bodies would be reconstituted (on the Day of Resurrection).”
They said: Allaah’s Messenger, which bone is that? Thereupon he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “It
is the little bone at the end of the coccyx.” [Saheeh Muslim (7605)]
