بسم الله
والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد
All
praise is for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds, and blessing and peace be upon
Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, his family, his Companions and those who
hold onto his guidance till the Day of Judgment.
To Proceed,
1. The
truest of Speech is the Book of Allaah.
2. The
strongest bond is the Word of Righteousness (Kalimatu-Taqwaa) (i.e. Laa ilaaha ilallaah).
3. The
best Millah (ملة – religion) is that of Ibraaheem عليه السلام and the Prophets.
4. The
best Guidance is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.
5. The
most noble speech a person utters is the Remembrance of Allaah عز وجل.
6. The
best of narrations (stories) are mentioned in the Qur’aan.
7. The
best of affairs is that which is Legislated.
8. And
the worst of affairs are the newly-invented matters (in the Deen).
9. The
most noble death is Martyrdom in the way of Allaah.
10. The
worst blindness is Misguidance after Guidance.
11. The
best Knowledge is that which Benefits.
12. The
best Guidance is that which is Followed.
13. The
most evil blindness is the blindness of the Heart.
14. The
upper hand is better than the lower hand.
15. That
which is less but is sufficient is better than that which is more and deceptive
(insufficient).
16. The
worst Excuse is at the time of Death.
17. The
worst Remorse is Regretting on the Day of Judgment.
18. The
best Riches is being self-sufficient.
19. The
best Provision is al-Taqwaa (righteousness).
20. The
head of all Wisdom is having Fear of Allaah.
21. The
best thing which a heart can perceive is al-Yaqeen (certainty) and the Fear of
the Knower of the Unseen (Allaah عز وجل).
22. Verily!
With life there is death.
23. With
Dunyaa (present life) there is Aakhirah (Hereafter);
24. For
every action there will be a Reckoner (Allaah تعالى).
25. Over
all things there is a Watcher (Allaah تعالى).
26. For
every good deed there is a reward.
27. For
every evil deed there will be a punishment (except for those whom Allaah
forgives).
28. For
every term (matter) there is a Decree (from Allaah).
29. Whoever
makes the Dunyaa his (main) concern, Allaah تعالى will leave his affairs upon it (i.e.
Allaah will not take care of him).
30. Whosoever
betters that which is between him and Allaah, Allaah تعالى will rectify that which is between him and
the people.
31. Whosoever
corrects his affairs in secret, Allaah تعالى will rectify his affairs which are public.
32. Whosoever
works for the Hereafter, Allaah تعالى will provide sufficiency for his religious affairs and
worldly matters.
33. Turn
towards that which you have been instructed to do, from the things which will
rectify your Aakhirah.
34. Turn
away from that which you have already been guaranteed from the matters of your
worldly life (i.e. don’t make this Dunya your main concern, for what has been
written for you of the provision will surely come to you).
35. Do
not use your limbs – which were nourished upon the blessings from Allaah – by
exposing them to Allaah’s wrath by sinning against Him.
36. Keep
yourself preoccupied in seeking His forgiveness.
37. Make
your main concern on getting closer to Allaah تعالى through obedience and submission.
38. Verily,
you are now in the days where it is time for action and no judgment; and no
doubt, tomorrow you will be on a Day where there is only Judgment and no
actions.
39. Allaah
تعالى gives the share of the Dunya to all - those
who love it and those who hate it, but He تعالى does not give the Aakhirah except to those
who love it.
40. Beware
of oppression! For oppression will be darkness upon darkness on the Day of
Judgment.
41. Beware
of lewdness and immorality, for Allaah تعالى does not like immorality and an immoral
person.
42. Beware
of stinginess, for it destroyed those who came before you; it directed them
towards speaking lies and they lied; it commanded them to break ties of kinship
and they broke it.
43. The
best Muslims are those from whose tongue and hands other Muslims are safe.
44. Beware
of coercion and hostility, what an evil servant is the one who coerces and is
hostile, while forgetting about Al-Jabbaar (the Compeller) Al-A`laa (The Most
High).
45. What
an evil servant is the one who is heedless and diverted, forgetting about the
graves and the trials.
46. What
an evil servant is the one who is violent and tyrannical, forgetting his
beginnings or his end.
47. What an evil servant is the
one who seeks the world through the religion.
48. What
an evil servant is the one who seeks the religion through his desires.
49. What
an evil servant is the one who puts all hope in his own zeal.
50. What
an evil servant is the worshipper who is misled by his desire.
51. What
an evil servant is the one whose aspirations humiliate him.
52. O
son of Aadam! You already have that which is sufficient for you, while you seek
that which corrupts you – neither with little are you content and nor with much
are you satiated.
53. If
you reach the morning with a healthy body, with security in your group
(society), and you have been given the provision for that day, it is as if you
have been given the realm of this world in its entirety.
54. And
know that the feet of the servant will not move on the Day of Judgment till he
is asked about his wealth: from where he collected it? And on what he has spent
it? And about his age: in what he did with it? And about his youth: where he
wore it out?
55. Both
the Dunya and the Aakhirah seek and are sought after. The one who seeks the
Aakhirah, the Dunya chases him till his sustenance has been given to him in
complete. And as for the seeker of the Dunya, then the Aakhirah chases him till
death overtakes him. Verily! Happy is the one who chooses the everlasting bliss
over the ever perishing world.
{O you who believe! Fear Allaah and keep your duty to Him. And
let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allaah.
Verily, Allaah is All-Aware of what you do.} [Surah al-Hashr (59): 18]
56. Turn
to Allaah تعالى with repentance before your
death and be prompt in doing good deeds before you are preoccupied (with
worldly matters).
57. Amend
what is between you and your Lord – you will be made happy.
58. Give
much charity – and you will be provided with your sustenance.
59. Enjoin
what is good – you will receive mercy.
60. Forbid
what is evil – and you will be victorious.
61. The
sustenance of every one of you has been allotted; a person will not miss what
was written for him.
62. The life of every one of
you is limited, and no one will surpass what was already been decreed for him.
63. So be good in what you seek
and be prompt in doing good deeds before one’s term comes to an end.
64. The deeds will be accounted
for; nothing from it – either big or small – will be neglected. So do much good
deeds sincerely for Allaah alone.
65. Remember
more often the destroyer of pleasure (i.e. death).
66. For
if you remember death at the time of hardship, you will feel at ease and when
you become pleased with it and you will be rewarded.
67. When
you remember death at the time when you are rich, it will make you ascetic and generous
and you will be rewarded.
68. Verily!
The most refined person is he, who remembers death the most.
69. The
best of them is he who prepares for it.
70. Verily!
The sign of correct intellect is that the person turns away from the abode of
deception (this world) and turns towards the everlasting abode, and takes his
provision for the grave (i.e. good deeds) and prepares for the day when
everyone will be raised up.
71. Verily!
All those who are on earth are only but like guests, and the guest has to leave
(sooner or later).
72. Verily!
This Dunya is a temporary place of enjoyment; the righteous as well as the
wicked eat from it.
73. But
as for the Aakhirah, then it has been promised with truth (that it will come).
74. On
that Day Al-Malik (the King) Al-Qaadir (the All Powerful) will judge (His
creation).
75. Allaah
have mercy on the person who takes care of himself (by doing good deeds and
avoiding sins) and prepares for the Aakhirah.
76. This
Dunya is the abode of distress and not the abode of success.
77. Whoever
knows the reality of this Dunya will never be happy at the comfort he finds in
it, nor will he grieve at the distress he suffers in it.
78. Allaah
تعالى created the abode of Sorrow (the Dunya)
and made the Aakhirah as an abode of everlasting bliss.
79.
Allaah تعالى made the sufferings in this
Dunya as the means of reward in the Aakhirah.
80. The
reward in the Aakhirah is a recompense for the suffering in this Dunya.
81. Allaah
تعالى takes (in this Dunya) so that He gives in
the (Aakhirah).
82. And
He تعالى afflicts (In this world) so
that He can reward for it (in the Hereafter).
83. So fear Allaah تعالى as He should be feared.
84. And work towards pleasing
Him.
85. And do not belittle any
type of sin, for it might be small in your eyes but it something major in the
rights of the One whom you have disobeyed.
86. The sins are not small
anymore with persistence.
87. Nor do they remain big with
sincere repentance.
88. So man should take from
himself for himself and from his Dunya for his Aakhirah, and from his youth
before his old age, and from his life before his death.
89. For there is nothing after
this Dunya except for al-Jannah (the Paradise) or al-Naar (the Fire).
اللهم إنا نسألك التوفيق لحسن العمل
وحسن الختام .
O
Allaah! We beseech You to guide us towards good deeds and a good end.
اللهم اجعل الدنيا في أيدينا ولا تجعلها
في قلوبنا .
O
Allaah! Make the Dunya the possession of our hands and not an obsession of our
hearts.
اللهم اغننا بحلالك عن حرامك ، وبفضلك
عمّن سواك ، وبطاعتك عن معصيتك ....
O
Allaah! Grant us enough of what You made lawful so that we may dispense with
what You made unlawful, and enable us by Your Grace to dispense with all but
You.
اللهم إنا نسألك الجنة وما قرب إليها من
قول وعمل ، ونعوذ بك من النار وما قرب إليها من قول وعمل .
O
Allaah! We beseech You for Paradise and that which will take us closer to it
from the speech and action; and we seek refuge in You from the Fire and all
that which will take us closer to it from the speech and action.
اللهم صلِّ وسلم على نبينا محمد

DeleteThis was actually the Friday Khutbah delivered by the Imaam of my local Masjid. I just modified each of these admonitions into separate points.
