بسم الله والحمد لله
والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد
Note: Only Allaah knows best the chronological sequence of the events. The numbering is only for punctuation.
1. The Dunya: (الدنيا): The way we live in this world will determine what path we
will be following on the Day of Judgment.
2. The Grave: (القبر): The answers to the three questions in
the grave will determine if the grave will become for us a garden from the
gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of Hell.
3. The Blowing of the Trumpet: (النفخ في الصور): This will be the second blowing. On the
first blowing, everything on Earth will die. On the second blowing, everything
will rise up from their graves.
4. The Resurrection: (البعث): After the second blowing, everyone will be
raised barefooted, naked, uncircumcised. The Sun will be close; people will be
in their sweat, for some the sweat will be up to their ankles and for some it
will be up to their earlobes. The pregnant women will drop their load, children
will turn white-haired, and mankind will be as in a drunken state, yet they
will not be drunken. Verily the torment of Allaah is severe.
5. The Intercession: (الشفاعة): The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has been granted eight types of
intercessions [Sharh `Aqeedah al-Tahaawiyyah]. And this is from the Major ones.
The torment on that Day will be very severe. So the people will go from one
Prophet to another, starting from Aadam عليه السلام till `Eesaa عليه السلام asking them to intercede to Allaah, but they will all put
forward their excuses. The people will finally come to Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and he will intercede to Allaah تعالى and the Judgment will begin. [Details are
mentioned in Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, Saheeh Muslim and other books of Hadeeth.
6. The Judgment: (الحساب): There will be no one except that Allaah تعالى will talk to him directly. No one will
move from his place till he answers the four questions. Those who will be asked
to give detailed accounts for their actions will be destroyed.
7. Receiving the record books: (تطاير الصحف): Those who receive their record books in their right hand will
be the successful ones but those who receive their record books in their left
hand behind their back will ask for destruction (i.e. death after which there
is no life). [See Surah al-Haaqqah (69) and Surah al-Inshiqaaq (84)].
8. The Scale: (الميزان): Then, those whose Scales are heavy, they are the successful; and
those whose Scales are light, they are those who lose their own selves, in Hell
will they abide.
9. The Cistern: (الحوض): It is a cistern/pond, the water of which is from the river of
al-Jannah, al-Kawthar, which was given to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. It will be the place where the Ummah of
Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم will be gathered; its drinking containers will be as
numerous as the stars in the sky; its water is whiter than milk and sweeter
than honey. Those who innovate in the religion, for follow an innovation will
be prevented from drinking from it.
10. The testing of the Believers: (إمتحان المؤمنين): Allaah will gather all the people on the Day of Judgment and
say: ❝Whoever worshiped a thing (other than Allaah in the
world) should follow (that thing).❞ So, whoever worshiped
the sun will follow the sun, whoever worshiped the moon will follow the moon,
and whoever use to worship al-Taaghoot (false deities and anything worshiped
besides Allaah) he will follow al-Taaghoot. And there will remain only
this nation with its good people and among them the hypocrites. Allaah will
come to them in the appearance they do not know and say: ❝I am your Lord!❞ They will
(deny Him and) say: ❝We shall stay here until our Lord comes, for when our
Lord comes, we shall recognize Him.❞ So Allaah will
come to them in the appearance that they know, and will say: ❝I am your Lord!❞ They will say:
❝You are our Lord,❞ [Hadeeth:
Agreed upon] When the Almighty Lord makes Himself visible (before the
believers), then the believers will fall down in prostration to Him, but no one
of the disbelievers and hypocrites will be able to prostrate. Rather, their
backs will become one plate. Every time one of them attempts to prostrate, he
will bow his neck but will not be able to prostrate.
11. The Hell: (النار): A bridge will be laid across Hell (Fire). Prophet Muhammad صلى اببه عليه وسلم and his followers will be the first ones
to go across it and none will speak on that day except the Messengers. The
invocation of the Messengers on the Day will be: ❝O Allaah,
Save!❞ In Hell (or over the bridge) there will be hooks like
the thorns of al-Sa`daan (a thorny plant), but none knows how big they
are except Allaah. Those hooks will pull the people away according to their
deeds. Some of the people will stay in Hell (be destroyed) because of their
(evil) deeds and some will be cut or torn by the hooks (and fall into Hell) and
some will be punished and then relieved. As for the Hell, the intensity of its
Fire is seventy times hotter than the fire in this world. As for its size, it
will be brought on the Day of Judgment having seventy thousand bridles and on
each bridle there will be seventy thousand Angels pulling it; and it has seven
gates.
12. Al-Qantarah: (القنطرة): When the believers pass safely over the bridge across Hell,
they will be stopped at al-Qantarah (a bridge/place) in between Hell and
Paradise where they will retaliate upon each other for the injustices done
among them in the world, and when their hearts are purified of all their sins, and
they have no hostility against each other, they will be admitted into Paradise.
13. Al-Jannah: (الجنة): The first one for whom the gates of al-Jannah will
open is Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and it will not open for anyone before him; and no one will
enter al-Jannah except by Allaah’s Mercy. It has eight gates. Whoever
enters al-Jannah, will enjoy a life of luxury and never feel
deprivation, his clothes will never wear out, and his youth will never fade. Its
beauty is what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and has never
crossed the mind of man. Therein is everything that the soul desires.
