The bond between “Lying about the Deen” and “Bid`ah”

بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد

۞ Telling lies about/in the Deen leads towards Bid`ah in the religion.

۞ Bid`ah needs lying for its survival.

۞ and the common thing about “Kadhib” (lying, fabricating) and “Bid`ah” (innovating in religion) is that they do not stop till they drag its people towards the Hell-fire.

It is not like that a person tells a lie once and it stops. No! Once a person starts lying, he will have to lie again to cover up the first lie, and this goes on and on. And the worst liars are those who attribute to Allaah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم that which they never said.

Example: the “Pokémon”* (read as poke-man) Hadeeth – which was a lie on the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and a means to degrade the Sahaabee.

* It is alleged that once a female companion was praying optional prayers and her husband got jealous that she is exceeding him righteous deeds. So, whenever she would stand for prayer, he would poke her. So she complained to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم about the actions of her husband and that is why the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم instructed her to pray in the inner chambers of her house. [Note: This incident is a deliberate falsehood and is not reported in any books of Hadeeth]

Same thing goes with Bid`ah. Once a person engages in it, he will have to keep on inventing something new to make the original Bid`ah more entertaining.

Example: first it was only the Bid`ah of Mawlid. Then came the Bid`ah of decorating the Masaajid like Christmas tree; then came the Mawlid cake. And in some places, it is reported that they even offered two Rak`aat prayer like Eid prayer.

(And the worst is, nobody mentions about Fasting whereas these deviants use the Hadeeth of Fasting on Mondays to support Mawlid)

In the Saheehain, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

❝...and beware of lying,  for lying  leads to Fujoor (vice, wickedness, transgression, corruption) and Fujoor leads to Hell-Fire. And the person who keeps telling lies and endeavors to tell a lie is recorded as a liar with Allaah.❞

And in the Books of Sunan, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

❝I warn you of the newly invented matters (in the religion), and every newly invented matter is Bid`ah (an innovation), and EVERY Bid`ah is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.❞
