Based on the work of the noble Shaikh
al-Albaanee رحمه الله: “Silsilatu al-Ahaadeeth
al-Saheehah”
1) From Abu Hurairah رضي الله
عنه in marfoo` form: “Verily I was sent to perfect the noble manners.”
[Adab
al-Mufrad (273) Al-Haakim (2/613), Musnad of Imaam Ahmad (8729) and graded as “Hasan”
by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (45)]
2) From Abu Dardaa’ رضي الله
عنه from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم:
“The heaviest thing on the scales is good
manners.”
[Reported
by Imaam Ahmad in his Musnad (6/446 and 448). Reported in “al-Adab
al-Mufrad” (270) with a slight different wordings, and graded as “Saheeh”
by Shaikh al-Albaanee in “al-Saheehah” (876). Also graded as “Saheeh”
by Shaikh Muqbil in “Saheeh al-Musnad” (1041)]
3) From Abu Dardaa’ رضي الله
عنه that he heard Allaah’s
Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم
say: “Nothing of what is put in the scale is
heavier than good manners. And, the good mannered person will attain the rank
of the person who keeps fast and offers Salaah.”
[Tirmidhee
(2003) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
4) From Anas رضي الله
عنه that the Messenger of
Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم
said: “The believers with the most perfect Imaan
are those who have the best manners, and verily good manners reach the level of
fasting and prayer.”
[Reported
by al-Bazzaar (35) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah
(1590)]
5) From `Abdullaah bin `Umar رضي الله
عنهما who said: “The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
was asked which are the best of people?” He صلى الله
عليه وسلم replied: “Those of them with the best manners.”
[Reported
by al-Tabaraanee (13326) and graded as “Saheeh li ghairihee” by Shaikh
al-Albaanee in “al-Saheehah” (1837)]
6) `Abdullaah bin `Amr bin al-`Aas رضي الله
عنهما mentioned Allaah's
Apostle صلى الله عليه وسلم
saying that: he صلى الله عليه وسلم
was neither a Faahish nor a Mutafahhish. `Abdullaah bin `Amr
added: “Allaah's Apostle صلى الله عليه وسلم
said: “The best among you are those who have the
best manners and character.”
[Saheeh
al-Bukhaaree (6035) and Saheeh Muslim (2321)]
7) From Usaamah bin Shareek رضي الله
عنه who said: “We were sitting
with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
as if we had birds on our heads, none of us speaking, when a group of people
came and said: “Who is the most beloved of the slaves of Allaah to Allaah? He صلى الله عليه وسلم
replied: “Those with the best manners.”
[al-Haithamee
(8/24), and al-Mundhiree (3/259) and Shaikh al-Albaanee said “Isnaaduhu
Jayyid fee al-Shawaahid” (its chain is good due to other supporting
chains), al-Saheehah (432)]
